
About the Artist
Wylie Knight is multimedia artist with a passion for art advocacy, education, and sharing the creative process. He recieved a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing & a Digital Studies Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2025. Knight is honored to be a Mercile J. Lee Scholar, a UW-Madison Scholarship committed to service, scholarship, and diversity. He was born and raised in Kenosha, WI and a proud Indigenous Ojibwa.

Knight’s commitment to art education and creativity is a constant throughout his life, personal practice, and the workplace. He is professionally trained in painting, ceramics, metals, drawing, and graphic design. With work focusing around ideas of queerness, perception, and meditations on obscure figures. As well has led numerous classes and workshops through Wheelhouse Art Studios, facilitating free art events with upwards of 800 community members.

From his work at the Wheelhouse Art Studios this he was a recipient of the Porter Butts Creative Art Award for talent within the arts & continuous artistic contribution to the Wisconsin Union. Knight has had the privilege to display his work through various galleries and exhibitions across Madison Area. Wylie Knight has a true love for community art engagement, sharing creative skills, and creative direction.
