Wylie Knight is an emerging contemporary artist based in Wisconsin. He received a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing & a Digital Studies Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Knight was a Mercile J. Lee Scholar, a UW-Madison Scholarship committed to service, scholarship, and diversity. He was born and raised in Kenosha, WI and a proud Queer Indigenous Ojibwa.

Knight's recent work focuses on abscure portraiture, blending the connotative and colloquial meanings of color, pattern, and proportion to derive a personality. Despite each portrait’s dissociative blank stare similar format, their imperfect symmetry and gaudy drabness create a performance of identity, gender, and test one's discernment.

Knight's work at the Wheelhouse Art Studios this he was a recipient of the Porter Butts Creative Art Award for talent within the arts & continuous artistic contribution to the Wisconsin Union. Knight has had the privilege to display his work through various galleries and exhibitions across Wisconsin.
